What is a Virtual Desktop Solution?
With a Virtual Desktop Solution and AISO's VMware Infrastructure, companies, travelers and home users can host individual desktop PC's and laptops inside virtual machines that are running in our data center. Users access these desktops and laptops remotely from an energy efficient powered thin client (such as the one pictured to the left) using a remote display protocol. Since applications are managed centrally at our data center, organizations can get better control over their desktops and laptops, and there is no worry about costly PC repair, back-ups or hardware upgrades. Installations, upgrades, patches and backups are done with more confidence without user intervention.

AISO's Virtual Desktop Solution enables organizations to move sensitive data normally stored on a PC into our secure data center to maintain data integrity and meet regulatory compliance requirements (e.g., HIPAA, Sarbanes-Oxley, and Gramm-Leach-Bliley). We ourselves run our desktops in VMWare to reduce the energy used in our offices.

Organizations with branch offices, remote workers, or offsite facilities can be managed and their desktop environments standardized, where backups, upgrades, and complete maintenance can be performed from our data center.

Complete desktop and laptop environments are encapsulated inside VMware virtual machines and maintained in our data center where, in the event of a disaster, they can be instantly recovered and redeployed within minutes using our VM SnapShot technology. Moreover, if one user’s desktop crashes, it will not affect another user’s desktop or application because it’s running in a separate virtual machine.

	NEW: With AISO's special software manager, you can choose what software you would like installed or uninstalled (including as an example having Microsoft Office 2000 & Microsoft Office XP installed at the same time), click a few buttons, and in seconds without installation/un-installation the software icon appears/disappers from your desktop. Our software also allows older software that runs on older Windows OS versions (such as Windows 95) to run on new Windows OS versions (such as Windows Vista) without any application issues (Extra cost for us to virtualize custom software).
	No data is stored on the thin client, so it cannot be lost or stolen; No need to worry about computer data physically getting stolen, as the data resides in our data center not at your location. The data stays on the server here at AISO and remains compliant with privacy regulations such as HIPAA, Sarbanes-Oxley or Gramm-Leach-Bliley. Plus all communication between the thin client and the servers are using double 128-bit encryption (128-bit Server-Gated Cryptography (SGC) SSL encryption and 128-bit RC4 encryption below the SGC)

	Thin client laptop can access the same desktop as the thin client for your home or business (not concurrently), this allows you to access the same data from both devices. For example, if your at work on your thin client and need to travel, you can access your work desktop from the laptop, right were you left off
