Live Earth
Live Earth was a monumental music
event that brought together more than 2
million people on July 7, 2007 and was designed to trigger a global movement to combat our climate crisis.
Live Earth staged concerts
in New York, London, Sydney, Tokyo, Shanghai,
Rio de Janeiro, Johannesburg, Hamburg and
Istanbul, and featured a mix of both
legendary music acts like The Police, Genesis,
Bon Jovi and Madonna with the latest headliners
like Kanye West, Kelly Clarkson, Black Eyed
Peas, Jack Johnson and more.
Live Earth will
implement a new U.S. Green Building Council
standard that will become the model for carbon
neutral concerts and other live events in the
future. The standard is being developed in
partnership with the U.S. Green Building Council
to create a way for venues to be LEED-approved
