Why a dedicated server?
Why have a Chevy,
when you can have a Porsche? That is the
question to ask about your web business. If your
web site demands its own dedicated resources,
than having your own server is the answer. From
the most resource demanding multimedia sites and
sophisticated e-commerce sites to growing
resellers and high-traffic corporate sites they
can all benefit from hosting their sites on a
dedicated server. AISO's Dedicated Server
program offers a dedicated solution that
combines the power of your server with our the most
reliable, redundant, solar powered green data center. A dedicated server allows your data to be accessed at
high speed without the need to employ IT staff and purchase costly
equipment and lines at your location. Can your current web hosting companies’ dedicated server do this...
What is a Dedicated Server?
With a dedicated server, your rent a virtual dedicated server
that is dedicated to you within AISO.Net's VMWare infrastructure, connected directly to the
Internet backbone. It is like having a physical dedicated server or co-locate server, except it saves electricity, has better redundency and more. A VMware VM dedicated server is superior to shared hosting or a virtual private server (VPS (such as SWSofts dedicated server solution)) because they get their own dedicated operating system and are fully isolated from other virtual machines on the server hardware. As a result, you no longer have to worry about having your hosted service overrun by another service on the same box and is more secure because each virtual machine is completely abstracted from the hardware and isolated from other virtual machines. As well as a VMware VM dedicated server can deliver better availability than regular dedicated servers because they can be migrated from one server to another with no downtime.
How it works
Select either Windows 2003 Enterprise Server or
your flavor of Linux . Choose what features you
want installed on your dedicated server. We
install the software you ordered and we send you
the login information.
You have complete control over the content of
your web site as well as server administration.
If you don’t have the experience to manage a
dedicated server then let us know and we will be
happy to manage it for you.
Any questions or concerns just ask and one of
our support technicians we will be happy to
assist you.
Operating Systems Available Both 32-bit and 64-bit operating systems are available. By default a 32-bit OS is installed, please request 64-bit if you require it.

What you get
A fresh operating system installed with your
choice of features on our redundant clustered
server farm to ensure complete reliability and
speed.
Next we set up our backup features so your data
is fully protected. We can do this two ways:
|

|
We can (this has to be requested and costs extra) backup your data
across our gigabit local area network to
our redundant multi-terabyte backup NAS
servers. |
|

|
We will (this is automatically included) set up a feature
that runs on our enterprise class clustered NetApp SAN (Storage
Area Network) which takes snapshots
of your server every hour. These
snapshots are rotated and we keep the last 48 hourly snapshots and the last two
12am nightly snapshots. Snapshots are for emergency
use only and allow us to fully restore individual files or a
failed system and have it back online
within a matter of minutes. Our SAN has Fibre Channel disk drives (better then SATA, SAS and SCSI) and
RAID dual parity (DP), which can protect
data even from dual disk failures. Single-parity RAID 5 does not protect against such double-failure events. While RAID 1+0 and conventional RAID 6 do provide sufficient protection, each has serious drawbacks - RAID 1+0 requires nearly twice the number of disk drives, and conventional RAID 6 slows performance significantly. The solution is our NetApp RAID-DP, an advanced RAID 6 NetApp technology with excellent performance.
If a
disk drive fails it is automatically
replaced in the RAID group with an
online spare disk drive.
RAID
DP requires two disks for storing parity
information, unlike standard RAID, which
uses only one disk. By using this extra
disk for parity, it provides better
protection than traditional RAID
implementations, which provide
protection from only single disk
failures. |

Redundant Data
All data is stored on our
clustered redundant NetApp SAN. Our
SAN is fully redundant and has no
single point of failure. The NetApp SAN has dual 64-bit storage processors with redundant hot-swappable controllers, cooling fans, power supplies, fiber optics and 4 Gigabit (Gb) conductivity to our front end clustered IBM servers.
Uptime
Our network is fully redundant with no
single point of failure. We have multiple
redundant Cisco 7200 series routers. Connected
to the Cisco routers are two fully redundant
Cisco ASA firewalls. Each Cisco ASA firewall is
connected to multiple Cisco 4500 series switches for full
redundancy. Each NAS server is connected to
multiple switches for full redundancy. Our SAN
is built with Fibre Channel disk drives, redundant power supplies, fans,
CPUs and network connections so the SAN will
continue working if any component fails. Because
the components are hot swappable they can also
be repaired or replaced without having to
schedule downtime. Each physical server has
hot swappable
redundant power
supplies and fans, redundant network cards
connected to multiple switches for full
redundancy, diagnostic light path panel, DDR II
ECC (Error-Correcting
Code)
memory and more. Plus both the physical servers
and the SAN have auto notification so if
something does fail, the hardware will e-mail
our techs alerting us to which component failed
and e-mail the manufacture expediting hardware
repairs to dramatically reduce physical server
down time. The e-mail sent to the manufacture alerts them to which component failed, automatically opening a hardware trouble ticket, the manufacture giving us a call and them shipping out the new component for next day delivery.

network setup,

This setup makes it so your dedicated server has
no single point of failure which means higher
uptime.
Clustered IBM Servers With
Automatic Failover
Where other hosting companies
give you one dedicated server, or you have your
own co-located server, AISO's dedicated server
program you get multiple servers for the price
of one. With VMware's VMotion technology, unique
to VMware, the system will automatically move
your running virtual machine (your dedicated
server) from one physical server to another with
no impact to end users (Zero Downtime), allowing
maximum CPU & Memory resource availability to your machine.
Plus your dedicated server will have NIC
failover and load balancing between separate NIC
cards enabling greater hardware availability, speed, and
fault tolerance. Our VMware systems
continuously monitor all physical servers in the
cluster and almost instantly without human
intervention, restarts your dedicated machine on
a different physical server in the event of a
server failure, so your back online within
minutes.
Server Monitoring
All servers are monitored by multiple systems
running Ipswich What’s Up Gold network
monitoring software. This software will take
evasive action in case it senses a problem. It
will restart a failed service or can even reboot
a computer. It will notify one of our senior
techs in case of any failure. Our techs are also
notified if one of the monitoring servers has
failed. This allows us to be proactive and
handle any potential issues prior to them
happening.

Instead of having your e-mail services running on your dedicated server, you can have it hosted on our clustered, redundant e-mail systems which include Advanced Groupware Webmail and Advanced Spam Protection.
Using a web interface, you will have control over all of your domains and their e-mail/alias addresses, including adding, editing and deleting. You also get a spam filtering administration area for administration over the spam filters as well. For more information about our additional hosted e-mail services, please contact us.
Disk Space
Each server starts with 40GB of drive space and
can be expanded easily as necessary. Space can
be expanded with a single reboot and is available for a
nominal monthly cost.
Cost
Monthly cost for 1 server is $350.00 per month
which includes 200GB (equivalent to 617.28 Kbps consistently) of monthly bandwidth.
One time $200 setup fee
Additional monthly bandwidth is billed at $4.00 per GB
NOTE: The $350.00 per month might change depending on the software you select.
NOTE: Bandwidth usage is calculated based on average usage NOT 95th percentile, and our bandwidth limits are soft caps. You’ll receive an e-mail notification when you go over your limit. If you trickle over because your site is Dugg or Slashdotted, congratulations! We’re reasonable people and we can work something out if you go way over or need more bandwidth.
